Export the content of a room/private chat
With this feature, you'll be able to export any content (messages, service messages, attachments (optional), links, etc.) from an end-to-end encrypted or non-end-to-end encrypted room/chat.
In end-to-end encrypted rooms/chats, only content for which the user has the keys can be exported.
To export the content of a room/chat:
Click on the icon of the room/chat you intend to export
Click on the cogwheel at the top right of your chat screen or click on the banner at the top of the screen (which displays the title)
Click on « Export room chat »
The possible export formats are:
Plain text: when you export data in this format, it will be presented in a linear way without any styling elements.
HTML: when you export data in this format, your content will be formatted. Content display is very similar to the content of your Web Client or Desktop Client.
Depending on the size of the export, the downloading may be immediate or take a few minutes. A banner will indicate the download progress.
